Gearing up for new Adventures!!!

Rana and I have had many wonderful adventures together. When we first met we were starting out in life and with virtually no vacations accrual from work. We loved traveling to see and experience new places and we learned to do it within our limited means..Cheap & short. We started with spontaneous whims for cheap road trips over long weekends, even our honeymoon was only three driving-hours away for 3-day-2-night stay in Branson, MO. Like I have always said, we're spending the rest of our lives making up for our honeymoon. With a goal to always save money and make time for our trips, our adventures became longer and more exciting. Our one-week Switzerland bike tour was our mother-of-all trips and as wonderful and amazing the trip was, we don't intend to stop there.

2009 Travel plans
2009 is fast approaching and we already have our tickets and days-off set aside for our next international adventure. Our next stop is Trivandrum, India. Rana's home state. This time we will be accompanied by, husband-and-wife, co-workers, Megan and Json. We have a itinerary set, including purchasing Saris (local dresses), riding elephants, sitting on the beach, houseboat rides on back waters, and day-long pampering massage sessions. We will be gone for a total of three weeks. This will be a new adventure even for Rana, since Rana and I never had another couple traveling with us, especially out of the country. Rana and I have a list of other international places to visit but we figure that we can only do one per year due to the time and financial commitment for such adventures. We have found that committing to a plane ticket was the hardest part in planning an international trip.
On the domestic front, we already have planned to travel to Wisconsin right after Xmas 2008 to visit Rana's sister. We also hope to hike or bike in Maine, since Megan is from there and she regularly visits her family up north. Lets see if she could still stand traveling with us after India :).

2009 defiantly holds a lot of excitement, despite the country's current financial recession. I finally have a job that I can't wait to get back to and Rana is excelling in his research and studies towards his PhD, like he had aways wanted. With our sights and goals to see the world, I doubt any life obstacles will keep us from the rest of the world.
2008 was not that great but 2009 would be just fine.
Happy New Year!

Recap: Obama was elected president, Companies are getting bailed out, Housing market still in decline, Oil price is down, Bush almost got hit by shoes, we remodelled the basement, biked the katy trail, I got my dream job.
